First Summer Steelhead on the Columbia

FAQs

What type of gear do we use?

We use the highest quality gear available. Low-cost gear breaks and you do not want down   time or a rod/reel to break while you have a big fish on.

What type of licensing do we have?

We are U.S. Coast Guard licensed. Merchant Mariner licensed up to 100 tons.

What type of fishing boats do we have?

We fish out of a comfortable 25 foot Alumaweld. This craft is very stable and has high sides for safety. Motor is a 225 Mercury, with a 9.9 H.P. kicker. Hot water for sanitation. Storage to keep things dry.

What about safety?

Having a fun day on the water starts with being safe. We are U.S. Coast Guard certified, as well as, First Aid/ C.P.R Certified. Everyone must wear life vests while on the boat.

What about children?

We love to take children on the boat. We take pride in fishing with children and having them catch that first “big one”.

What if I do not know how to fish?

This is the reason to hire a fishing guide. We take time in teaching how to set up a reel, cast, battle that “big one” and reel him in. All that, while teaching proper water safety on the water. Feel free to ask questions, we are here to help.

What do I need to bring?

You will need a current fishing license with punch card. Bring rain gear, camera and lunch. If children will be accompanying you, please bring a size appropriate Life Vest. If you do not have one, please let us know and one will be provided.
